Our Story

Built on a family's hands, not a franchise.

In 1982, Ratilal Panchasara started Shree Vishwakarma Optical Industries in Rajkot — an acetate optical frame workshop from the very beginning. Its early models, Gokiro and Geeta, made the company's name.

Ashvin Ratilal Panchasara joined in 1987, on the back of Gokiro and Geeta's success, and introduced Anjan, Romer and Macukal — his focus has always been product design and colour selection. Jitesh Ratilal Panchasara joined in 1989, introduced Gujarat, Altimo, Rangoli and Collage, and leads sales today.

Today the third generation — Kemit Ashvin Panchasara (joined 2019) and Kashish Jitesh Panchasara (joined 2022) — carries the workshop forward, with the catalog now past 200 models across 210 colours. Kemit handles the production line and sales, while Kashish is focused on global markets and sales.

How It's Made

From raw sheet to finished frame.

Every VOI frame begins as a single sheet of acetate and ends as a finished piece of craftsmanship — shaped, refined, and perfected entirely within our own workshop in Rajkot. Nothing is outsourced. Each frame is carried through seven deliberate stages and eighty-two individual hand operations, every one in service of a single standard: a finish worthy of the name it carries.

01

Baking

Cured acetate sheets are baked for 5–6 days to remove moisture and prevent future warping.

02

Cutting

High-speed CNC mills carve the frame front, lens grooves, and temples from the solid sheet.

03

Forming

Flat blanks are heated and hydraulically pressed to shape the nose bridge curve.

04

Reinforcing

Metal core wires are shot into the heated temples, so they can be bent and adjusted later.

05

Hardware

Hinges are heat-sunk into milled pockets or secured with through rivets.

06

Smoothing

Frames tumble in wooden barrels with beechwood chips and pumice for 48–72 hours.

07

Polishing

Cotton buffing wheels give the acetate its final high-gloss finish.
